Beyond the classroom, I am passionate about exploring different cultures and learning from diverse perspectives. Teaching provides me with the opportunity to connect with people from around the world and share my knowledge and enthusiasm for languages.

My expertise extends to preparing individuals for various Dutch state exams, IELTS and TOEFL exams, and business English proficiency. With an academic background in educational psychology and linguistics, I use effective teaching methods based on research and practice.

I have taught for large organizations, universities, and even the Dutch consulate in Istanbul, creating engaging and interactive classes. 

During my lessons, I generally prioritize SPEAKING practice, and I tailor my approach to each student's personality and learning style to ensure a comfortable and effective learning experience that builds confidence. 

I offer private lessons both in English and Dutch.

ENGLISH

-  I typically help people improve their general English. During my lessons I like to focus extra on my students’ SPEAKING skills by having (simple) conversations with them on everyday topics while giving feedback on any important points that we come across (relating to grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation). For most people, speaking is their weakest point, so this often deserves extra attention. And besides, speaking practice can be great fun!

-  I also specialize in other areas, such as business English and IELTS and TOEFL test preparation.

DUTCH

-  I mostly help people learn Dutch from scratch (such as prospective university students planning to study in the Netherlands and professionals planning to move to the Netherlands for work).

-  I also specialize in preparing people for various Dutch state exams (such as might be required for obtaining Dutch citizenship).

I am highly dedicated to ALL my students in providing professional teaching services.

I’m not a big fan of formal settings, so I always try to provide a fun and light atmosphere that puts my students at ease, enabling optimal learning.

I don’t like payments being delayed.

Since people are very different – especially in how they learn – I always adjust my lesson materials and communication style to what works best for you. 

Students often tell me that my patient, clear teaching approach makes them feel at ease and enables them to absorb more during the lesson.

Focus on SPEAKING

I generally also give extra attention to speaking, which is a weakness with many learners. 

If this applies to you, I will allocate at least 1/3 of each lesson exclusively to having a free, organic conversation – at your specific level of course – while giving feedback on any important points that we come across (relating to grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation).
