I’ve really enjoyed working with my music teacher. The lessons are genuinely fun and engaging, which makes a big difference in staying motivated over time. Before him, I tried a few other teachers, but their approach felt too theoretical. With him, I was already playing a real song after just two lessons, which was incredibly encouraging. What stands out the most is how well he adapts to the student. There were moments when I was close to giving up, but he adjusted the lessons to make them more enjoyable and motivating. At the same time, when there is focus and energy, he doesn’t hesitate to teach even the more complex aspects of Turkish music in a very accessible way. He is also very reliable and always on time, which I really appreciate. His teaching approach is well balanced—he combines practical playing with theory in a way that never feels overwhelming. We often start by playing, and then naturally build the theory together, which makes the learning process much more intuitive. I am learning tanbur from him, and at the same time, I am developing a deeper understanding of makam music. I can highly recommend him to anyone interested in learning Turkish music in an engaging and effective way.
